A Brief Introduction: Corporate life moves quickly. It’s easy to view a career as a series of boxes to check. It seems like a linear climb toward a single peak.
But after 24 years of navigating global sectors and digital frontiers, I’ve realized something important. A career is not a milestone. It is a journey of endless wonders and essential pitstops.
My Own Personal Journey:
I started my career in manufacturing. Later, I led complex, multi-workstream digital transformations at KPMG. Through these experiences, I have seen the value of this philosophy firsthand.
Each transition was a challenge that forced me to evolve my perspective. The “wonders” are found in these challenges.

As the saying goes, “Change is the only constant”.
This applies to individuals career journey as well. I have been fortunate. I feel blessed that my career is shaped by prompt transition. In hindsight, it seems that timing was perfect. Be it transitioning from
- Quality Control Engineer in Automotive Industry to Business Excellence professional in Service Industry.
- Or Transition from Business Excellence leader in Service Industry to Technology professional in Big-4 Consulting firm.
- And one more big change is in the making, Doctorate in Gen-AI.
Each of these transition poses risk-challenge and reward-achievement. What turns Risk-challenge combo to Reward-achievement; its the courage and self belief of wading through and achievement the goal.
Purposeful Pauses: Yet, the most critical parts of the journey are the pitstops. These aren’t pauses in progress; they are moments of purposeful recalibration. Pursuing my Doctorate in GenAI is one such interval. Earning a new certification is another. I transitioned from a long tenure at a firm like KPMG. This transition allowed me to launch my new venture, Corporate Dronacharya. It also provides this opportunity. These intervals allow me to refresh my vision.
Refueling at these pitstops ensures that we don’t just reach the next level. It guarantees that we arrive there with renewed vigor and a deeper sense of purpose.
How are you refreshing at your current pitstops? I invite you to share your experiences with career transitions and renewals in the comments. Let’s learn from each other’s journeys.
